Labour mobility enhances economic resilience by allowing workers to move across borders where their skills are most in demand. She explores how well-managed mobility can address labour shortages, promote knowledge transfer, and drive inclusive growth. She co-leads the working group on Legal pathways and labour migration in the African non-state actors platform on migration and development.
Strong diaspora ties are a powerful resource for national development. She focuses on building policies and networks that engage diaspora communities as investors, innovators, and cultural ambassadors.
Remittances are more than financial flows — they’re lifelines for families and tools for development. Her work examines how to maximize their impact through financial inclusion, cost reduction, and policy innovation.
The link between migration and trade is often overlooked. She analyzes how human mobility complements trade flows, shapes consumer markets, and builds transnational business networks. More sepecifically, her work examines relationship between the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement and the African Union's Free Movement Protocol (AU-FMP) in facilitating labour mobility and enhancing intra-African trade and economic integration. It emphasizes the importance of connecting the free movement of goods, services, and people to fully realise the benefits of regional integration.
Simplifying trade procedures boosts competitiveness and unlocks growth. She advocates for smart, digital, and inclusive trade facilitation measures that reduce barriers and improve efficiency across borders.
Regional integration is essential for economic transformation. She works on policies that foster greater connectivity, shared prosperity, and coordinated responses to regional challenges.
Effective migration governance balances human rights with national interests. Her focus is on creating frameworks that ensure safe, orderly, and regular migration, in line with global standards.
Trade in services is a driver of modern economies. She delves into regulatory reforms, digital trade, and skills mobility to expand opportunities in sectors ranging from finance to education and health.
